Our mission is shared by a vast range of individuals and organisations – through supporting each other, we can reach more young people with higher quality interventions.

Application Mentoring

Funded by our university and third-sector partners, our Application Mentoring provides students with a personal statement workshop, access to OSCAR and e-mentoring. Once registered on OSCAR, students follow subject-specific pathways developed by academics and teachers.

They are paired with a subject-specific expert mentor, trained in applications, who provides online support throughout the admissions process, particularly in the last, most decisive stages.

Sutton Trust Teacher Champions

Advancing Access, Causeway Education and the Sutton Trust have joined forces in a unique collaboration to provide dedicated support to teachers and advisers across the United Kingdom. This partnership brings together the expertise of three leading education organisations to enhance progression to competitive higher education institutions and courses for students from state schools.

As part of this initiative, we will offer a series of free webinars covering key topics related to university applications. These sessions will provide evidence-based advice from experienced practitioners on areas such as writing personal statements and preparing for admissions tests for courses like law and medicine.

By combining our strengths, this partnership aims to streamline access to high-quality resources, reduce duplication for schools, and foster collaboration between schools, colleges, charities and higher education institutions.

Addressing Undermatch in HE destinations

This project will develop and pilot an intervention for school and college staff to improve higher education outcomes for students at risk of ‘undermatching’. It will explore barriers, school factors, and how targeted staff training can improve HE destinations. The project will deliver toolkits, reports, and events to support teachers, schools, outreach organisations, and policymakers.

This project has been funded by the Nuffield Foundation, but the views expressed are those of the authors and not necessarily the Foundation. Visit nuffieldfoundation.org.
